Melissa Noel is an award-winning freelance multimedia journalist in New York City.

She is a contributing correspondent for One Caribbean Television, covering major news stories out of the Caribbean region and throughout diaspora communities in the United States and Canada. Noel also produces video as well as print and online stories for several other outlets including NBCNews.com, Caribbean Beat Magazine, and Huffpost.com

Noel’s work focuses on telling stories that center on the issues impacting marginalized communities and the Caribbean Diaspora.

Her commitment to bringing attention to underreported stories has earned her accolades such as a Global Media Award for excellence in reporting from the International Labour Organization, A Salute to Excellence Award from The National Association of Black Journalists and a White House Correspondents’ Association journalism award.

She is a summa cum laude graduate of Howard University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism and holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism from The City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate School of Journalism.
